A kiírás célja a térfalakkal határolt telek beépítése egy olyan épülettel, amely lehetővé teszi a területen történő átjárást is.
Egy olyan fogadószintet terveztünk, ami a Várkörút felől érhető el, illetve egy lépcsőn feljuthatunk a tetejére is. A fent kialakult köztér a Bástya utcával egy szinten található, így megfelelően illeszkedik a város meglévő szövetébe. A Várkörútról tekintve a vezérszinti beépítés zártsorú jelleget mutat, ám az ebből kinövő inkubátorház tömege már folytatja a szabadon álló villák ritmusát. A harmadik, egyben legjelentősebb elem a kiállítást befogadó épületrész, mely szoborszerűen ül a lepényszerű fogadószinten. Ez a központi elem a beépítés szervezője. A tűzfalakkal körülhatárolt helyzet adta nehézséget előnnyé alakítva egyedi atmoszférájú, szűk belső udvarokat terveztünk, melyek szoros kapcsolatban állnak a földszint tereivel. Itt helyeztük el a meglévő szobrokat. Nyitott, de mégis védett helyen.
Az új ház nemcsak szerves része lehet a városnak, hanem jelképe a megfogalmazott funkciónak.
The goal of the project is to use the isolated site for such a building that allows circulation through the area.
We have designed a receiving floor which is accessible via Várkörút street and has access to the roof through a staircase as well. The public upper floor is levelled with Bástya street to be incorporated into the existing fabric of the city. If viewed from Várkörút street, the design shows a closed-row plot, however the mass of the incubator building that grows out of it continues the rhythm of free standing villas. The third - also the most significant - element is the mass that envelopes the exhibition area sits as a sculpture on the flat box of the reception hall. This central element is the conductor of the disposition. The difficult situation provided by firewalls all around was converted into an advantage when we designed narrow inner patios tightly connected to interior ground floor spaces with a unique atmosphere. This is where the existing statues are placed. In an open, but still protected area.
The new house can not only be an organic part of the city but also the icon of the formulated function.
